I just finished up a fun day at a friend's baby shower. I had the honor of helping another friend out with throwing the shower. I got decoration duty, which as you know, is my favorite. My friend's nursery theme is teddy bears, so I went to work crafting up a teddy bear themed party. Her shower was held at C.J. Callaways in Sioux Falls, SD. It was a great venue with a ton of natural light and views overlooking the golf course. The natural light made some of my pictures hard to take, but it was sure beautiful after such a long winter.
Although teddy bears are a pretty timeless nursery theme, it's pretty darn hard to find teddy bear shower ideas. I found inspiration pictures based on the color theme I chose, then took various ideas and projects and made them bear themed. I made most of my decorations using my Silhouette Cameo. I even sprung for a new Silhouette sketch pen to try it out. I have since ordered the adapter so I can use regular pens as sketch pens.

Decorations
Lots of banners cut with my Silhouette. Since banners are such a small easy project, I usually overload on that project when I plan parties.
Teddy bear themed clothesline. Pinwheels made with wrapping paper.
Teddy bear pennant banner with jars of honey for favors.
Such a wonderful space with tons of natural light!
Bit of a random idea, but I had these paper lanterns to use. I had originally bought them to make adorable hot air balloons with teddy bears in the baskets. Then, I found out that the ceiling was too high to hang them. Instead I taped each lantern to the blind sticks. They looked like they were hanging, were easy to remove and made use of something I had already bought.
Small picnic baskets with fresh flowers and a little bear banner.
Burlap runners with a bit of fun ribbon down the center.
One of my favorite party items: fun paper straws.
Up close of the one of the banners I made.
My would-be hot air balloon baskets. Instead, I put them in the window.

Games
Our first game. Some of the pictures were pretty hard, but we did have one guest get 12 out of 15!
Bear favors. My Silhouette blade died on me (new one on order) so I had to cut these by hand. If my blade had still been around, I would have made them a bit fancier.
Our second game was a race to see how fast someone could come up with a boy name for each letter of the alphabet. The soon to be grandma won. She is a former school teacher, so that makes sense. :)
The glowing mom to be! I wish I looked half this good any day, let alone when pregnant!
