The Pinterest Report: Recipes

Hello There!

I have been cooking and trying to use my fruits and vegetables from my Bountiful Baskets. There has been quite a bit of Pinteresting lately to find recipes.

For the most part they have been successes, but some aren't that great. Here's the lowdown in this week's Pinterest Report.

This recipe is from the Pioneer Woman. Which of course means it's probably super delish. (Remember the french toast casserole?) I wasn't disappointed.

I got a little crazy with the salt, so I will watch that next time, but it had all the parts I love about baked potatoes. They were nice and crunchy and had great flavor. Definitely trying that again!

These were really great. We did get some Hawaiian rolls, but I think I would stick with plain rolls next time. They were pretty sweet. I also did a honey ham, so next time I might try plain rolls with smoked ham. Otherwise, this was a very easy quick recipe and would be great for appetizers.

We fell in love with this recipe. It was a fantastic way to use the veggies from my bountiful basket! Hardly any dishes to clean and it was so simple. We added in spinach as well and used some basil I had in the fridge.

This was a great one dish meal. It was simple and easy. (Are you seeing a theme here? I like no dishes, easy simple and no crazy ingredients.) The pork chop gets very tender. Since it's pretty heavy and not that great for you, I like to make sure we have some sort of veggie that takes over more of the plate than the pork and stuffing.

Okay. This one wasn't very good. The pie filling was just too sweet and the crest has a bit of a odd texture. The texture gets better if they sit in the fridge over night. We won't be trying this one again.

But, they sure look pretty even when I make them.

I was so excited about this that I made it during the summer. It was pretty heavy and stew like. It was delish, so we will definately do it again, but probably wait until the temp drops a bit.

This recipe was a very fast easy way to get some veggies on the table. It was pretty sweet if you follow the recipe, so if you want it to be a bit lighter, I would keep the butter and brown sugar at bay. The onions get sweet on their own.

The Market Junk Show Recap

Hello Everyone!

The past weekend I was a vendor at The Market in Geneva, Iowa. It was a bit chilly on Friday, which is pretty funny considering the weather last week was in the 90's! Saturday was beautiful and I even got a bit of a sunburn. There was over 1400 people that came to visit The Market...probably doubled the population of Geneva! :)

I had lots of fun with the other vendors. Definitely check out SOS Vintage, Elegant Junque, Kate's Kollection, Sassafras in Stitches, Making Home & Country Boy Salvage, and Barnyard Boutique. Now if I only knew who had the booth next to me. They had barn quilts and were just about the nicest people I have ever met. They helped me put up my tent on the first day and it was very much appreciated!!!

It was one of our first outdoor booths and I think it looked pretty good! Hopefully we can do another show next year! :)

As I always do, I have updated the "Hunk of Junk" album on my Facebook page. Facebook fans get first dibs on available items before I list them across various sites tomorrow evening!

My tent the second day. I couldn't put up my vintage inspired sheet the first day because it was acting like a sail and taking the tent with it. I do like when I finally got to put it up!

My booth the first day.

Show & Tell: Lil' Packer Fans

Hello There!

I have a little project to share with you! I had some iron-on transfers in a drawer. They had been there for a while and I decided it was time to use them up. My husband is a Packer's fan. I figured the kids need some gear to match dad on Sundays. (Although, lets be honest...last Sunday wasn't the Packer's finest hour).

I came up with some catching slogans for the shirts and created them in Word. I have a Mac and for some reason you can't print in mirror image on my Mac. So I ended up having to save each picture as a PDF, open in Preview, Save the selected portion as a JPG, re-insert in Word, then flip horizontally. What a pain. But at least the kids make pretty cute Packers fans! :)

While I was at it, I decided to make some Dabbling Crafter shirts for the kids. My son's didn't turn out so great. The blue was too dark, but there wasn't much selection in his size at the store. Oh well. At least three of my shirts turned out! I also decided to jazz up my paint shirt for the project weekends where I go out in public. At least it looks like the shirt and mess are intentional. (I wish the same could be said about my house)
